1849 is seeking various types of interesting and entertaining performances to perform on our tribute to one of the all time greatest game shows "The Gong Show". All contestants must audition. Auditions are held every Monday between the hours of 5 - 7pm at 1849.Please read all requirements below before auditioning
- 1. We ask that you be creative and original without being offensive, nude, or violent. Self- injurious performances are not considered entertaining.
- 2. Each performance will be pre-approved based on good common sense. No performance will be allowed to proceed if at any time the judges, the host, or the on-site technician deem it to be dangerous to anyone including the performer.
- 3. No performance will be allowed to proceed if at any time if the judges, the host, or the on-site technician, deem it to be of an offensive nature.
- 4. Performances may be of a solo or duo nature.
- 5. Contestants may make use of the available audio equipment. Contestants will be held responsible for repair costs should they damage sound equipment as the result of their performance. There will be a technician on-hand to help coordinate your requirements.
- 6. All contestants must register their attendance with the host and technical coordinator of the Gong Show on the night of, prior to the beginning of the presentation.
- 7. Pre-registered contestants will be called up to the stage one at a time to perform.
- 8. Each performance must be at least 1 minute and up to 3 minutes length in time.
- 9. Any act that is deemed too awful to continue will be gonged at any time.
- 10. You will have a minimal amount of time for "set-up". A contestant may be "Gonged" simply for taking to long to get started. (Hint: If possible keep your set-up entertaining).
- 11. The Judges may "Gong" any performance at any time. Once you're "Gonged" your performance is over.
- 12. At the completion of each performance, judges will comment and score the performance from 1-10, 1 being the best and 10 the worst. Contestants may be subjected to good-humored sarcastic comments as judges are instructed to "tell it as it is".
- 13. Judges decisions are final and not subject to review.
- 14. The top scorer of the day will receive the grand prize of $500.00
